Sungguhpun ramai yang tidak &#8220;sudi&#8221; makan belut,  tetapi diakui, hidupan air tawar ini kaya dengan pelbagai khasiat.<\/p>\n<p>Spesies belut mempunyai nilai pemakanan yang tinggi. Khasiatnya  dikatakan setanding ikan tenggiri dan selar, mengandungi 18.6 peratus  protein dan 15 peratus lemak.<\/p>\n<p>Belut juga kaya dengan lemak, kalsium, vitamin B, Vitamin D dan zat besi.<\/p>\n<p>Tidak hairanlah ramai yang percaya belut boleh membantu mengubati  penyakit seperti buah pinggang, lelah, darah gemuruh, lemah tenaga batin  dan penyembuhan luka pembedahan.<\/p>\n<p>Spesies  ikan ini jika diamalkan memakannya selalu, dikatakan boleh menguatkan  daya tahan tubuh, menormalkan tekanan darah, menghaluskan kulit,  mencegah penyakit mata, menguatkan daya ingatan dan membantu mencegah  hepatitis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Belut yang ditangkap lebih mahal<\/strong><br \/>\nWalaupun tidak  ada yang menternaknya secara komersil seperti ternakan ikan keli, belut  tetap menjanjikan pulangan yang lumayan kepada penjualnya.<\/p>\n<p>Bahkan, sehingga kini Rosli belum pernah menghadapi kesukaran  mendapatkan bekalan belut. Menurut beliau, restorannya memerlukan  bekalan 15 hingga 20 kilogram belut sehari, dan pembekal tidak pernah  gagal memenuhi keperluan tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Bagaimanapun, harga belut yang ditangkap lebih mahal berbanding belut  yang diternak. Dikatakan belut liar lebih banyak khasiatnya kerana  haiwan tersebut hidup di dalam air tawar dan habitat semulajadi.<\/p>\n<p>Harganya boleh mencecah RM8.00 hingga RM11.00 sekilogram dan  meningkat hingga ke RM14.00 sekilogram pada musim hujan. Manakala belut  yang dibela harganya adalah RM6.00 hingga RM7.00 sekilogram.<\/p>\n<p>Zaman dahulu, orang yang makan belut dianggap terlalu miskin  hinggakan belut pun dibawa balik. Sedangkan hari ini, hidangan belut  terutamanya sup belut sukar didapati dan harganya pula lebih mahal  daripada sup biasa.<\/p>\n<p>Dek kerana ramai yang telah menyedari khasiat istimewa belut, tidak hairanlah harganya meningkat di pasaran.<\/p>\n<p>Malah, Rosli juga pernah beberapa kali mengikut pihak Lembaga  Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia (LKIM) menyertai pelbagai promosi yang melibatkan  promosi hidangan belut ke seluruh Malaysia. <strong>BERNAMA<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Belut atau nama saintifiknya Monopterus albus termasuk kategori ikan dan berbentuk panjang dengan kepalanya yang bulat dan berinsang.
